Things You Should Know x BonnieEllen Collab | By Harrison

As you all know, my inner wanderlust is constantly fighting to be released. Travel is the biggest part of my life. It's my total passion and something I absolutely want to be doing for the rest of my life.
Being very lucky to live in the UK and knowing that it's a very popular destination, I thought I would bring you a few things you need to know before you travel here. Dispel a few rumours about the country and show off what an amazing place it actually is.

Today's blog post is in collaboration with fellow New Zealand Blogger, Bonnie Ellen. An incredible blogger with some wonderful content. Bonnie will be writing a similar blog post about New Zealand so head on over to her blog, show her some love and check it out.

// The Rumours \\

~ We don't all drink tea. Yes I do, I drink copious amounts of tea. But you'll be surprised to know a lot of people in the UK actually hate tea.

~ We don't all know the queen.

~ We don't all live in London with posh accents. There is a huge range of accents across the UK, not all of them sound like we have a plum in out mouth.

// The Facts \\

~ It's Busy. England and New Zealand are the same size. New Zealand has a population of around 4.5 million people, the UK, 65 million. Yeah, it's a busy country.

~ It rains. Constantly. Yep, I would say a good 95% of the year, it rains. Bring a raincoat.

~ Yes, London is incredible. So much to see, so much history. BUY A TUBE PASS.

// The Tips \\

~ Explore. There is so much to see in this amazing country. Don't just limit yourself to London. Although London is amazing, there is so much more to the UK than a busy, congested city. Our countrysides span for hundreds of miles and are some of the most spectacular backdrops you'll ever come across.

~ We're very reserved. We're not rude, just reserved. Don't be offended if someone doesn't want to have a long old conversation with you in a queue. 9 times out of 10, you'll find someone will just smile or be polite enough to acknowledge it and then move on. It's a British thing.

~ Try a cream tea. Live up to that stereotype. Although not everyone in the country drinks tea, we are famous for it, so naturally you need to try it. If you are, get a cream tea. A scone with Jam and Clotted Cream with a cup of tea. Trust me, you won't regret it.

So there you have it, a little bias blog post all about this crazy place I call home. Now head over to Bonnie's blog where you can see all you need to know if you're heading over to New Zealand any time soon. All of Bonnie's links are below!
